Challenge: Mecart is a maintenance facility contractor that engineers and manufactures controlled environments for various applications in numerous industries, from manufacturing and mining to aviation, biotech, pharmaceuticals, and more. When the Maintenance Facility Contractor Safety Committee deemed the walkways and railings at a Mecart facility didn’t meet proper building code standards, LNA was tasked with coming up with a solution. Upgrading the railing system came with no small challenges; since the Mecart facility needed to remain a controlled, clean environment, welding and drilling were out of the question. This was also an unanticipated expense on Mecart’s part, meaning LNA was keen on finding a cost-effective solution.
Solution: LNA provided detailed technical drawings to aid in the walkway installation, showing a unique composite solution that incorporated LNA Solutions BeamClamps to affix the base of the railing components to the steel flooring. The result was a cost-effective, comprehensively condition-satisfying solution that ensured Mecart’s scrutinized walkway and railing setup was up to code.
